The Agony of separation
Hafiza Nasiha Sarwar

I’m seeing people commenting on different posts/ pictures about not celebrating Eid this year.
Well, looking at the circumstances around, who would actually feel like celebrating? I mean we all are upset about the pandemic situation and on top of it, the plane crash made it worst. This news makes us cry, it literally feels like someone very dear to us leaves for heavenly abode. They all are truly blessed to leave this mortal world in such Holy Month and that too on such a blessed day (Juma-tul-widda). They are having millions of hands praying for their maghfirat and millions of eyes and hearts sobbing for their untimely death. The world is in the worse condition right now. People are dying. Think about all those hungry, needy, unemployed people who have suffered a lot due to this pandemic, families of the ones who have been diagnosed with corona and the ones who lost their precious ones in the plane crash.
But for a moment, let’s imagine, we give someone a gift and the person rejects it just because he/she is upset over something. I mean, how rude will it actually be? Also, we’ll hate it!
Eid is a gift by the Almighty for us. For the people who have worked on His commands for this whole month. For the people who started offering Sala’ah only because of Ramadan. For the people who made even a little bit of effort to make Him happy!
Mourning over deceased is only a reminder that someday we will be there too. Their separation is despondant for us but Life must go on, and such incidents should shape our actions permanently.
Let’s not forget it. Let’s not reject the gift by the most merciful, the Almighty. I know we all feel devastated. I know we all are utterly upset. But let’s do it for Him. Even if you don’t get ready, even if you’re quarantined. Let’s make it a family time! Let’s remember His creatures in our prayers and accept His gift whole heartedly. Let’s come out from this very own alienic life and help others in their grievances, and let’s not duped anyone.
He gives us time, the years, the months, the hours, the minutes, the seconds and even the milliseconds to cherish them, to feel the pain of others but not to curse the time HE has given us of this life. If we do so and we do this, we are actually thankless people. We always curse the years either it be 2014(Peshawar attack), 2016(Amjad Sabri sb, Junaid Jamshaid sb) and now 2020(Corona, PK-8303) we don’t throw curse on those who are actually responsible for all these. May Allah also give us the eyes who can see the truth, a tongue who can blame the real criminals.
May Allah makes it easy for us all, May Allah protects us all, ease the pain of those who have suffered and are suffering and grant Jannah to those who have lost their lives. May Allah give us the heart that can feel the pain of others. May we all gather in the gardens of Paradise and protect us from the fire of hell.
Aameen Suma’ameen Ya Rabbul A’lameen!
